Hydropower, also known as hydroelectric power, uses the force of moving water to turn turbines and generate clean electricity. As with other renewable energy sources including wind power, high-quality wave and tidal cable systems are vital to efficiently transmit the generated electricity from the turbines to the power grid and ultimately distribute to consumers and business users.
Unlike intermittent energy sources like wind and solar, hydropower offers the flexibility to help manage grid demand because water flow can be adjusted to match electricity requirements.
